Winners on and off the field

For a lot of us Thanksgiving is about football and family (ok, maybe not in that order). Besides the Dallas Cowboys victory, two things stood out yesterday. The incredible generosity and caring of two great athletes participating in the games yesterday.

DeMarcus Ware is just a tremendous player on the field but there is more to him that his on the field exploits and accomplishments. The Thanksgiving games covered some of his charitable work including efforts to fight childhood obesity. Each game aired this special commercial about the program that you should watch if you didn't catch it on Thanksgiving.

The other player… Charles Woodson of the Green Bay Packers. He’s making a really difference for so many children fighting cancer, heart disease, kidney disorders and autism. He recently donated $2 million to his alma mater the University of Michigan Mott which is building a Children's Hospital and Women's hospital. The AP wrote about his gift and desire to help.

Two great players showing that they are winners on and off the field.
