1 Promising New Alzheimer Vaccine

I know they've tested Alzheimer vaccines before, but someone brought this recent article to our attention.   Thought it was important and that you all would want to see.  It looks like they're close to testing a new Alzheimer vaccine in Europe.  As you know, Teresa and I are very focused on brain research efforts.  This is an encouraging sign in the fight to eradicate this disease that affects so many families across the world.

0 Haiti Update — U.S. Military Operations to End in June

At the height of our efforts to help the people of Haiti after the earthquake we had well over 20,000 U.S. military personnel working to mobilize rescue and relief efforts.  They did a tremendous job helping a country in need.  Currently have 2,200 troops still there and they will draw down further in June.  You can read the announcement here.  Although our military's presence has to wind down, our efforts to help the children and family go on.  The Haitian president estimated it would take three years just to remove the debris and then even more to rebuild.  To rebuild their country and their lives they will need help from people like you and I for many years to come.

0 Haiti… Struggle Continues

CBS News did a story the other night about the rebuilding efforts in Haiti.  The article points out that the Haitian President has said "it will take at least three years to remove all the debris and only after that he said, can Haiti begin to rebuild."  That's a long time, but progress is being made each day with -- including building temporary schools.  Check out the article when you get a moment, it's worth your time.
