How did they come up with the name Alzheimers? Reading this article sheds some interesting light on the disease. Fascinating facts about the first know case and how they studied it early on. Ultimately it was named after Alois Alzheimer who was the first to identify the disease back in the early 1900's. The study of the human brain has progressed light-years in the past decade but this debilitating disease has been around a lot longer than that.
