0 A Jump on Alzheimer Diagnosis

A new diagnostic procedure was discussed at the international Alzheimer's conference in Hawaii.  First time in twenty-five years it would be updated.  A write up on the decision is here.  It's worth a read.  Researchers are suggesting that Alzheimer's could start years before dementia sets in.  Still a lot to learn about this troubling disease.

2 Haiti — update

Even though it's not in the news everyday, Haiti is still struggling to recover from the devastating earthquake.  The Associated Press just did a very comprehensive piece on the problems that still plague the country and it's people.  They write that "only 2-percent" of the rubble in the capital has been cleared making it all but impassable.  And the number of Haitians in relief camps has "nearly doubled" to "1.6 million".  Aid is still coming in but we can't forget the devastation and the efforts to rebuild the country.  Please take a minute to read through this Associated Press story -- it will give you some insight as to how bad things still are.  Thank you

1 Happy 4th

Want to wish you and your family a happy fourth of July weekend.  Hope you get some R&R with friends and family.  And also want to say a sincere thanks to our Veterans, our troops and their families who sacrifice so much for our freedoms.
